Step 1 - Submit a Property Information Request Online

Go to the City of Kelowna's Property Information Request page and complete the online form. You will need to provide the property address and your contact information as the requestor.

Step 2 - Provide Owner Authorization

You must include authorization from the registered property owner:

  • A signed City of Kelowna Owner's Authorization form, or a Real Estate Listing, is accepted in lieu of the owner's signature on the form itself.
  • If the property is a strata, authorization from the Strata Council is also required.
  • Digital signatures must be Docu-Verified.

Step 3 - Pay the Fee

The base fee is $55.00, inclusive of taxes and service charges. After your request is reviewed, if the scope requires more than one hour of staff time, additional fees may apply at $55.00 per hour or portion thereof โ€” staff will contact you to discuss before proceeding.

  • Pay by credit card online (you will receive a payment link by email), or by cash, cheque, or debit in person.
  • Files are released via OneDrive upon receipt of payment.
  • Bonus: Homeowners requesting records before submitting a building permit can have the PIR fee credited toward their permit fees, with proof of payment.

Step 4 - Receive Your Documents

The City will provide the following information for your property, where available:

  • Property overlay with a link to the City Map Viewer
  • Current zoning and a link to the current Zoning Bylaw
  • Permit list with the status of all permits on file
  • Building permit documents for: dwelling and main structures, accessory buildings, swimming pools, wood stoves, secondary suites and carriage houses
  • Occupancy permits for: main building, accessory structures, secondary suites and carriage houses

The City does not guarantee the availability of information for all files and does not warranty the accuracy or completeness of the information provided.
